MANILA — The Employers Confederation of the Philippines (ECOP) urged the Marcos administration to improve connectivity and train employers in the digital space to achieve its plan to create one million digital jobs by 2028.

Speaking on ANC’s /”Market Edge,/” ECOP President Sergio Ortiz-Luis said the impact of digitalization has been felt already with the rise of online jobs during the COVID-19 pandemic.
He noted, however, that more jobs can be created by improving internet connectivity in the Philippines

/”We have to improve our connectivity…and then, we can put up the training or the platform for this, and we can move forward based on this,/” he said.
/”Unless we expand it, and unless we improve it, I don’t think we can compete with our neighbors in this area,/” he added.
