Dumepensa si House Committee on Appropriations Vice Chairperson Stella Quimbo matapos kuwestiyunin ni ACT Teachers Rep. France Castro ang pag-release ng P125 milyon mula sa contingent fund para sa confidential funds ng Office of the Vice President noong 2022.

Inilalaan ang contingent fund sa mga bago at urgent activities o projects ng mga ahensya ng gobyerno, government-owned and controlled corporations, at local government units. Kabilang sa puwedeng paggamitan nito ang legal obligation ng gobyerno, requirements ng mga bagong tatag na opisina, at deficiencies sa appropriations sa biyahe ng Pangulo.

Giit naman ni Quimbo, hindi limitado sa tatlong nakalistang halimbawa ng mga proyekto ng gobyerno ang puwedeng paggamit ng contingent funds.

Dagdag niya, may existing line item sa OVP noong 2022 General Appropriations Act na /”Good Governance Project/” at /”Social Services Project/” na bahagi umano ng contingent expense. #News5 via Marianne Enriquez
