PH gov't assisting Filipinos affected by Maui wildfires ANC
The Philippine Consulate General described Saturday the difficulty in identifying the people who died in the wildfires that ripped through the island of Maui in Hawaii.
Consul General Emil Fernandez said authorities need DNA samples just to determine the identity of the bodies. At least 111 people, including an elderly Filipino, are confirmed to have died in the disaster which is considered the deadliest wildfire in the US in over a century.
