On The Scene: Thousand of Nepalis flock in the capital Kathmandu to celebrate seven decades since Mount Everest was first scaled on May 29, 1953 by New Zealander Edmund Hillary and Sherpa guide Tenzing Norgay. Two climbers who set new records or achieved special feats in this year’s climbing season also received certificates from the Nepalese government. One of which is Nepali climber, Kami Rita Sherpa who summited Mount Everest for a record 28th time.
