A 22-meter-diameter giant moon-shaped tethered helium balloon will begin operations in Yeouido District, South Korea’s capital city of Seoul, in July, the Seoul government said.

The balloon utilizes helium fuel for vertical flight, which is a non-flammable fuel unlike normal hot air balloons used for sightseeing. Also, the balloon is connected to the ground by a cable, so it is impossible to deviate from its planned route.　

The balloon was officially named /”SEOUL DAL/” (The Moon of Seoul), and is expected to become the city’s nighttime tourist landmark. – Report from Reuters
