On The Scene: Two female sea turtles sauntered back to the Mediterranean Sea on Thursday after six months of recovery from injuries. First came Melanie, a green sea turtle weighing 94 kg (207 lb), followed by Lilush, a loggerhead, both were found in February on separate beaches near Hadera during a powerful winter storm. They were brought to the Israeli Sea Turtle Rescue Center which is run by Israel Nature and Parks Authority, after they were injured by marine explosions and suffered from tissue trauma, said Yaniv Levy who runs the centre on behalf of the Authority.
