Japan’s leaders marked the 78th anniversary of the end of World War Two at a memorial ceremony in Tokyo on Tuesday (August 15). Japan’s Prime Minister, Fumio Kishida, and Emperor Naruhito spoke at the event, reaffirming their country’s post-war commitment to pacifism. Representatives of Japan’s government and regional leaders laid flowers at a memorial commemorating those who died in the conflict.
