Japan on Wednesday (August 9) held a ceremony to mark the 78th anniversary of the Nagasaki atomic bombing, with Prime Minister Fumio Kishida addressing attendees via video message. This year, the ceremony was relocated indoors instead of the Nagasaki Peace Park, due to concerns about Typhoon Khanun as it passed off Japan’s western coast. The Nagasaki atomic bombing came three days after a U.S. B-29 bomber, the Enola Gay, carried out the world’s first nuclear attack in Hiroshima on August 6, 1945 during World War Two. T
