Gerflor head coach Sammy Acaylar says the Defenders management had given a part of their players’ delayed salary while the balance will be given this week. Acaylar and the Defenders lost to the Farm Fresh Foxies on Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2023, in the 2023 PVL 2nd All-Filipino Conference,17-25, 17-25, 15-25, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon CIty. Gerflor made the headlines last week after an anonymous player posted on Reddit that they have not been compensated on top of being forced to train at a subpar facility in Quezon City.
