President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. joins the nation in celebrating the 160th birth anniversary of Apolinario Mabini as he leads the flag raising and wreath-laying ceremony at the Mabini Shrine in Tanauan City, Batangas on July 23, 2024.

Spearheaded by the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP), the event honors the heroism and legacy of Apolinario Mabini who fought tirelessly for the country’s independence.

It also marks the culmination of National Disability Rights Week, dubbed ‘Promoting Inclusion: Celebrating Abilities and Advocating Access,’ highlighting the importance of inclusivity and accessibility for persons with disabilities (PWDs) nationwide.

Notably known as the ‘Sublime Paralytic’ due to his polio, Apolinario Mabini was a key figure in the revolution against Spanish and American colonial rule, earning him the title of one of the ‘Brains of the Revolution.’
